Cusco – Machupicchu – rainbow mountain 6d5n

In this program we will visit Cusco and its main tourist places, also: Machupicchu, the rainbow mountain, the sacred and the south valley. The first day we will visit: the Coricancha temple (gold temple in Quechua), Sacsayhuaman,  the main location of the festival of the sun or Inti Raymi , we will continue to kenko, Puca pucara and Tambomachay (in Quechua place of rest). The second day we will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas: we will pick you up from the hotel and after joining the group we will travel by car to visit: the Piuray lagoon, to make Andean bird watching, we will continue to Maras (natural source of salt ) and Moray an Inca agricultural laboratory, to end the morning we will visit Chinchero, before arriving to Urubamaba (capital of the Sacred Valley) for lunch, after lunch we will travel by car to Ollantaytambo, an Inca fortress where we will have a guided tour, in Ollantaytambo also is located the train station, where we will board and travel 2 hours approximately to Machupicchu, a person will pick us up at the train station to guide us to the hotel, our guide will visit us here to give us the guidelines for the visit to the citadel of Machupicchu. The third day will take the bus to Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour of  2 hours approximately  in the citadel, then we will have more time to explore the place by ourselves, in the afternoon we will have time to visit the hot springs and return at 6 pm. Approximately by train to Ollantaytambo and then by car to Cusco. The fourth day we will visit the rainbow mountain, this day we will have a trek of regular difficulty, mainly because it is located at 5200 masl. This trip will last all day, returning to Cusco at 6:00 p.m. approximately. The fifth day we will visit the south valley of Cusco, includes the following places: Tipon, Pikillacta and Andahuaylillas, will have the afternoon free. On the sixth day we will take you to the airport 2 hours before your flight time.

GENERAL ITINERARY

DAY 1: CUSCO –   CITY TOUR

Pick up from the airport or bus terminal and transfer to the hotel – Afternoon visit to: Coricancha, Sacsayhuaman, kenko, Puca pucara and Tambomachay – night in Cusco

DAY 2: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY + MARAS + MORAY – MACHUPICCHU

Trip by car to the sacred valley (Piuray, Maras, Moray, Chinchero, Urubamba – Lunch – Ollantaytambo –  train to Machupicchu town – night in  Machupicchu

DAY 3: MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

Guided tour in the archaeological site of Machupicchu – return by train to Ollantaytambo – return by car to Cusco – night in Cusco

DAY4: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN

Pick up from the hotel early in the morning and trip by car to Hanchipata – trek to the rainbow  mountain – In the afternoon: return to Cusco – night in Cusco

DAY 5: SOUTH VALLEY

Pick up from the hotel and travel by car to Tipon – Pikillacta – Andahuaylillas – free afternoon – night in Cusco

DAY 6: FREE DAY – RETURN

Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport.
